When you have a head of lettuce in there from the hamburgers you had the night before, this is a great way to use that up. Add a little protein with the marinated steak tips, and you can satisfy anyone relatively quickly.
Let’s Make it
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 flank steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 small head of iceberg lettuce
- 2 strips of bacon
- 1 shallot
- some cherry tomatoes, halved
- few cucumber slices
- blue cheese dressing
- blue cheese crumbles
MARINADE:
- 3 tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 tbsp. worcestershire
- 1 tsp. balsamic vinegar
- 1 tsp. honey
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tbsp. olive oil
- salt & pepper
- 1 tsp. mirin or cooking wine (optional)
- 1/4 c. water
DIRECTIONS:
- Cut the flank steak into 1-inch cubes and place them in a container with the marinade ingredients. Be sure to cover them completely. Massage the cubes while in the marinade for a few seconds; the total time marinating should be about 20 to 30 minutes.
- Sear the steak tips on all sides over medium-high heat until the internal temperature reaches medium-rare or is done to your liking.
- While the steak tips are cooking, make your salad by cutting a small head of lettuce into quarters and dressing it with salad dressing before adding tomatoes, onions, cucumber slices, blue cheese crumbles, and bacon pieces.
- Once the steak tips are cooked, place them on the plate with the salad.
