Let’s Make it

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 1/2 cups ripe bananas, mashed (approx. 5-6 bananas)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 10 tablespoons (1 1/4 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (such as walnuts or pecans)
  • 1 additional ripe banana, sliced (for extra banana flavor optional)

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, eggs, melted butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix well until all the ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  4. Fold in the chopped nuts and gently stir in the sliced banana for extra flavor.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly.
  6. Bake for about 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Start checking for doneness around the 60-minute mark. (Might be a good idea to put it on a baking sheet in case it spills over).
  7. Once baked, remove the banana bread from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes. Then wrap it in tin foil and place in the refrigerator for 2 hours or more to seal in the moisture before slicing.
  8. Using 1 1/2 cups of flour will result in a slightly denser banana bread with a moist and tender texture. Enjoy your flavorful and moist banana bread with the added nutty goodness!

Moist, nutty, and bursting with intense banana flavor!
