Taking you on a journey with me from Stone Fork Campground in Wytheville, VA to the Appalachian Trailhead #623. As I arrive, I run into two incredible hikers from The YouTube channel “Mishap & Amethyst Hikes” who are in the middle of their journey on the trail. They’ve already completed 1617 miles and are headed in the direction of Georgia! It was so inspiring to hear about their experience and see their determination.
Next, I embark on a 1/2 mile hike on the trail and make it to a beautiful stone walkway. Although it was a short hike, it was so thrilling to be a part of the Appalachian Trail, even if only for a moment. I can finally say that I’ve started the trail!
